- What determines the cost of a soft washing job?
- Price comes down to the size of the area, how many surfaces are included, and how much buildup has accumulated over time. A house wash, a roof cleaning, and a driveway are each quoted separately based on square footage and access. We give you a firm, upfront price before any work starts, so there are no surprises at the end.
- What's the difference between soft washing and pressure washing?
- Pressure washing relies on high-force water alone, which can strip paint, drive water behind siding, splinter wood, and blast roof granules loose. Soft washing uses a low-pressure rinse paired with a cleaning solution that kills algae, mold, and mildew at the root. The result lasts longer and the surface underneath — siding, shingles, wood, or stucco — stays undamaged.
- Is soft washing safe for my plants, pets, and roof?
- Yes. We use biodegradable cleaning solutions and pre-wet and rinse landscaping before and after treatment to protect grass and shrubs. Pets should stay inside during the cleaning, then are free to be back outside shortly after we rinse. On roofs specifically, soft washing is the method shingle manufacturers actually recommend, since it cleans without stripping granules or shortening the roof's life.
- How often should I wash my house on the Gulf Coast?
- Most homes in Mobile and Baldwin County benefit from a house wash every 12 to 18 months. Our humidity and rainfall give algae and mildew ideal growing conditions, so exteriors here get dirty noticeably faster than in drier climates. Homes with heavy shade or facing the water sometimes need it closer to once a year.
- Will soft washing kill my grass or landscaping?
- No, as long as it's done correctly. We saturate lawns and planting beds with fresh water before we begin and rinse them again afterward, which dilutes and washes away any solution that drifts over. Our cleaning products are also formulated to break down quickly, so they don't linger in the soil the way some commercial chemicals can.
- Do I need to be home during the appointment?
- Not necessarily. Many customers give us access instructions and go about their day while we work. We just ask that windows and doors be closed, pets are kept inside, and any patio furniture or delicate items near the work area are moved or covered ahead of time. We'll call when we're on the way and again when the job is complete.
